HBG (Hanky for a Beautiful Geisha)
24″ x 24″
Donation: 2013 Houston International Quilt Festival Fundraising Auction
Silk Radiance fabric, vintage hanky, wool batting, various threads: silk, metallic, polyester; seed beads.
Using a vintage hanky layered atop Silk Radiance and wool batting, I created this quilt for the Houston International Quilt Show fundraising auction.
The intense quilting on the front created a pleasant pattern on the back
The metallic thread in my “curves” motif complimented the straight lines of the outer border.
Seed beads sewn into the grid created a lovely texture. A full write up of my process and inspiration can be found here.
