Organizing my Stash?!
In the midst of working on Fashion Show for Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild and getting a Special Event set up for American Sewing Guild, I hit my limit. I simply could not function without some sort of organizational change in my stash.
I’m actually pretty organized but I work in a small space-my stash spills out into the surrounding rooms. I hope Oldest Son is not reading because I realized that the only way this reorganization was going to happen was if I created space and that space was…his closet. I threw away the receipts for potato chips purchased in 2006 along with the manuals to equipment long gone, packed up some of the clothes and found some space!

I had previously ordered 50 Polar Notions boards for bizillion dollars and thought they would make a huge impact on my stash. Well, here they are, taking care of maybe one-third of my silk stash! Good problem I guess.

Only problem is that I have lots more silk to organize. And then, that’s only the silk, what about the hundreds of yards of cotton and all of the garment fabric….

xIn the meantime, as a break from all of that organizing, I cranked out this little piece for the boutique for Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild show coming up Feb 11-13. I am disappointed. The piece I made is actually sweet but the choice of frame does not do it any justice. I’m not good at the framing thing. Might have to rework this one.
Once I’m organized, I can’t wait to get back to quilting!

Don’t envy! I think I spend as much money on storing my fabric as I did buying it!
