Bend Oregon Vacation
I apologize for not posting very much lately. I recently experienced 2 weeks of technology armageddon: cell phone, desktop and laptop, all at once.
This was followed by a delightful vacation to Bend, Oregon with family. It’s been a great time since we got here. My friends Lynn and Steve from Corvallis flew their plane here to stay with us for a bit. We took a 2 hour flight through the mid-Cascades, flying right by Bachelor, the Three Sisters, Three Finger Jack, Washington, and Jefferson. We also saw Smith Rock and Wolf Rock-all in 2 hours with amazing views from the plane. What a rare treat! It was a car vacation after all, so I was able to take, uh, just a few little ‘ole sewing things along…We rented a lovely home in Bend, close to the Deschutes River. While the men were out golfing, I was able to quilt. In my mind, being able to quilt while on vacation is pure joy. I set my machine up with a great view and spent a little quality time working on an art piece: #2 son could not join us because he’s only a month into his new job, a first for our family. It fills my soul to take these family vacations and spend all this time together. Vignettes like this “vacation rubble” photo fill me with joy: I hope you had a great vacation this summer too!

Sure looks like a wonderful trip! What type of adjustable clamp on lamp is that? An Ott-Lite?

I got the lamp at Office Depot. I used to have one of those big heavy black ones. This one has tons of light, easy to adjust and I pull it to me when I need the magnifier-I love it. I don’t see a name on it. Must not be an Ott-cheaper too I think.

Well your vacation included quilting too!

Especially these days, car trips are so much easier than flying. But you had it all! Great mountain shots from the plane and quilting just like at home except more relaxed.

Oh I do love a car trip-allows me to indulge in my passion while vacationing. I don’t need lots of clothes, just fabric, giggle!
