Roseville Quilters Guild Show
Very few shows happen in the summer so I was happy to go to the Roseville Quilters Guild’s show. I enjoy their show each year, along with the fair and some Food Not Approved by the American Heart Association. This was the charming greeting as you walked in-it got a chuckle out of me!
Poor Little Sunbonnet Sue is walking the chain gang in prison stripes, hanging her head in shame. Guess she won’t touch the quilts again!
It was a County Fair after all, so there was plenty of youth art. I love youth art and this happy little watercolor by Kylie Odell was just the cutest thing! I would love to have this in my home.
Eldora McElroy hand quilted and appliqued “Baltimore Basket”. Beautiful hand quilting and applique is becoming hard to find so I especially enjoyed this beautiful piece. She said it was 10 years in the making!
Most of us have these linens hanging around and Camilla Jensen’s “Mom’s Card Table” uses a cloth that her Mom used in the 40’s and 50’s. She took a Cindy Needham “Linen Ladies” class and now she’s hooked. She quilted this herself. Sigh, nostalgia…
Ruth Kennedy hand painted this beauty after finding inspiration in a Velda Newman book. Quilted by Sharon Morris.
Ginger Frantzreb created “Autumn Path” using the “snippet” method. Her inspiration was a beautiful Thanksgiving card she received. Quilted by Debbie Lopez.
Arlene Regello created “Dolly Dimples” in redwork. She says it reminds her of embroidering pillowcases as a young girl. Quilted by Lana LaPlante.
Awww!
Okay, so after the quilt show I had to have some fried zucchini followed by one of those fried waffle things with the powdered sugar. However, I did offer some restraint-no ice cream on the waffle, snort!
Admirable restraint! Isn’t the main draw of the county fair the fair food?!
Yes, indeed, but I was still “recovering” from having my son come visit with all that gooooooood food that I make….!
Hey…I go to the fair for the fair food! LOL! Love the quilts that you have shown! There is so much talent all over this world. Poor Sunbonnet Sue…she is imprisoned in such a desolate place…no color…no life. I hope her sentence is short!
Thanks Laura! Isn’t it fun to see what’s at other shows? I got a kick out of poor Sunbonnet Sue-who knew she had a record??
Thank you Jenny ! I was not able to attend the show , so I appreciate this pictures..
Glad you enjoyed it Connie! I do enjoy seeing what everyone else is making.
I love the Autumn Path!
Yes! Very pretty in person.
