Double Happy Dance-Published and Installed!

April 2, 2015

This week I received my copy of Sandra Sider’s 1,000 Quilt Inspirations with 4 of my images. I also received a photo of a collaborative piece that I was a part of installed in the owner’s home. I’m doing my happy dance!

I am so excited to have FOUR images in this fantastic book. I haven’t even had a chance to look at it, but just thumbing through it I see there is lots of eye candy for quilters and artists. I took some quick photos this morning so they’re not that great:

Item 15
Item 15-“Stars and Stripes”
Item 133
Item 133-“Golden Moments”
Item 475
Item 475-“Morning Breeze”
Item 515
Item 515- “Purple Daisy”

This last one is a piece I worked on in 2004, probably my first art quilt. I took a local class with Melinda Bula, before anyone knew her, and made this piece. I was amazed at how she could coax artistic talent from me.

I also received this photo of a collaborative piece in place. “Over the River and Through the Farms” was bought by a local attorney and here it is in place! I love the way he mounted it and placed it in his home.

This was a four-slice collaborative project of Anita Marshall, myself, Margo Wilson and Donna Brennan (in order of the slices shown). We received permission to use Wayne Thiebaud’s Rivers and Farms piece as our inspiration.

What a week! I’m off to a 3-day lecture/workshop today so my post is brief and perhaps a bit unpolished. I wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend. I’ll be posting to Nina-Marie’s Off the Wall Friday!
