Traveling-again, and a Give-Away soon!
I’m on the road again, this time I’m going to Portland, Oregon for the Studio Art Quilt Associates Conference, “Fiberlandia“. I’m excited-I will “just” be a participant! I am not presenting, I’m not a Rep. I am volunteering for a few things, but I will savor the feeling of simply enjoying the presentations and the company of great friends old and new. I always seem to return from SAQA conferences energized and filled with new ideas.
This year we are having a Maker Space where we will “learn through doing” in a social environment with hands-on activities-sounds fun! We have free time on Saturday afternoon so I’ll be exploring the galleries in the Pearl District. And I will meet some of you there too!
My error will be your gain: I accidentally pre-ordered two of this book, so after I get back I will be setting up a give-away. The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters by Sherri Lynn Wood seems to be the hottest book in the quilting market right now.
I have long followed Sherri’s blog and admire her work and her Modern take on improv piecing. I will be taking my copy with me to savor while in Portland (if I have any down time at all!). My “extra” copy I will share with one of you! So stay tuned for more details after I return. I’ve never done a give-away before so I have to figure out how to set it all up. I’ll have all the scoop next week-make sure to check back!

That is very generous of you Jenny, I wonder if I will be allowed to enter, I am in UK. Not to worry if answer is no I do understand as postal charges are pretty horrendous.
Enjoy SAQ, I do hope you meet my friend Maggi Birchenough from UK, I feel sure you two would get on really well together.

I will make it a point to find Maggi! I knew when I thought about the idea of a give away that I might be shipping overseas- just more fun!
Laura says
It will be fun to hear about your trip and your new ideas!
Jenny says
I’m having lots of fun so far and I’ll be sure to write about it!

Have fun Jenny! Now I’m kind of wishing I had planned to go! I love Sherri Lynn’s work and her book is quite wonderful.

It was wonderful Debby-I’ll be writing about it. I have not gotten a chance to look at Sherri’s book yet.
