Featured Quilter at the Mother Lode Quilters’ Guild, 2022
I had the pleasure of being the Featured Quilter at the Mother Lode Quilters’ Guild Show in Sutter Creek. I met so many people, engaged in interesting conversations and was generally treated like a Queen!
Anelie Belden is the President and was a supportive and attentive host. I stayed at the Foxie Inn, a lovely bed and breakfast just steps away from the show. I took breakfast in the garden each morning and enjoyed an indulgent croissant breakfast.
I was greeted with a beautiful basket from the guild:
Tucked in there was the local paper with a feature article about me!
This gave me a giggle:
I could NOT find the light switch! I knew it had to be there somewhere….
Sutter Creek is a pleasant town to spend a day or two in, with excellent food, boutique shopping and scenes like this:
People from the Bay and Sacramento drive up for a nice afternoon. You know it’s a small town when you see this setting at night:
What? No one is going to smash those pumpkins? Granted, this was steps from the Police station.
Now, on to the show! The guild provided a spacious setting, just for me:
I so enjoyed demo-ing for the crowd!
And who knew, there were 3 C&T authors!
Okay, now I know you want to see the quilts! I am posting the quilt’s photo, maker and quilter. I’m crunched for time and won’t be adding comments unless needed for clarity. Here we go!
It was the guild’s first show in three years! There was a bumper crop of beautiful quilts. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the show!
I’ll share at:

When did you have time to take all those photos! I did get a photo of the label on the traditional sampler quilt with RC in top middle. It is “Cheddarback Quilt 1857” by Ruth Carter. A reproduction of an antique quilt of the same name, pattern by Gay Boomers of Sentimental Stitches. This was one of my faves from the show. It was fun visiting Sutter Creek and great to see you there.

I got photos late on Sunday as well as before the show opened, hence the missing tag. Thank you for the information! I already added it to the post. It was fabulous to see you and spend some time together!

My high school best friend’s mother did light switches like that in every room! I thought she was crazy and kind of cool at the same time.

I love it when you share photos from quilt shows that are too far away for me to attend in person! Sounds like you had another great trip and I’m glad the guild hosting you treated you like the royalty that you are. Love that tangerine door, too!

Yes, there are so many pretty sites in the area!
