The Loom Quilt & Fiber Guild show, 2024
The theme for the Loomis Quilt and Fiber Guild Show this year was “A Wonderland of Quilts” and it was a colorful show! There were lots of bags and other fiber creations, making it an interesting and varied show.
I always have such a hard time culling my photos; I try to keep it to 40 photos because, well…..40! I get angsty as I try to narrow it down. Enjoy the show! BTW, this is not a juried or judged show, no ribbons.
Brilliant color!
Love the low volume prints and contrast.
Beautiful applique.
Gorgeous sashiko.
Judy used free blocks from an Australian company offered during the shutdown.
Just adorable!
She used fabric samples from a fabric rep to create this.
Great take on Dresden.
Gotta love a winding ways quilt!
Beautiful mix of precise piecing, great color choices and lovely quilting.
Just so pleasantly Amish in its quilting and colors.
Red and vibrant and happy!
So sweet; it must have been fun to choose the fabrics.
Great color choices and I love the Modern vibe.
What a fun take on a house quilt!
Lucille is 11 and this is her first quilt, made for her cousin!
I’m always drawn to New York Beauties and I enjoyed the color choices.
Well who doesn’t love a “pampered pig”?
Love all those Aboriginal fabrics.
Made during the lockdown from leftovers from previous projects.
Lovely interpretation of Amish design using brights.
Sunshine indeed; what a happy quilt!
Lovely, quiet, serene.
The background fabric was a great choice for the applique.
The red triangles make the center pop.
Sweet quilt that looks so much better than my photo!
I love bird quilts; must have been lots of fun to choose fabrics for each.
Those peeeeeerfect circles are from using Applipops.
I get a fun, retro vibe from this quilt.
Interesting central design surrounded by Winding Way; have not seen this before.
Gotta love stars!
And there were so many bags and wearables:
I’d love to have either of these!
Laughed at her label “This took forever”!
What a great collection of indigo prints! It’s beautiful combined with the denim.
Exquisite. I love to see “fiber” pieces at a quilt show.
I love everything about this – the colors and the design.
I’d love to have these also! I don’t have the patience.
Just for her rulers!
I had a lovely chat with the Featured Artist Kathy Mullaney who is indeed a true artist. Her display was varied but you felt the heart in each piece. This is about surviving the lockdowns, feeling isolated and invisible. The left hand side of the dress is secured by a hook and eye and the dress can be removed, revealing the woman.
I see the love and joy in these portraits!
Saved this for last for the title, “My Happy Quilt” because after all, quilting makes us happy!
I hope you enjoyed the show! I’ll be linking up to:

What a colourful and eclectic show! I confess, the wee tea pots and the piggies were my favourites. They made me smile!

Oh I know, weren’t they just the cutest?

Hi Jenny, on the “Birthday Quilt for Brooklyn” Lucille Heidbreder is the 11 year old maker and quilter. I think my name is all over the card because I sponsored the entry. And it was a joy to help her experience all the “feelz” of her first quilt and quilt show.
Jenny says
THANK YOU! I just changed it to reflect the maker. It is such a cool quilt!
