The Valley Quilt Guild Show 2026

I was happy to be in town for the Valley Quilt Guild show in Yuba City; I don’t always get to make the show. The Valley Quilt Guild Show truly is unique and it starts at the entrance:

The guild makes a new windsock each year. It’s so cool to see it fluttering in the breeze.

And their welcome tables reflected the current year’s theme, “Three Part Harmony”:

Other welcome table:

And then you enter the cavernous space to see a display of previous year’s windsocks. This is just a portion. They have made a windsock every year since their inception in 1982!

Aside, I taught and lectured for the guild the week before and I took precious few photos, but this is what I have:

It was a beautiful drive and the mustard was out in full force. It was such an outrageous and showy display of flaming yellow!

There was a great turn out for my lecture and lots of questions. It is a very active and engaged guild.

I spent the night at a lovely nearby hotel and met these beautiful greeters. Apparently loose chickens is a thing there. Aren’t they pretty? And Mr. Cock there had quite the ego. He knew he was sumthin’!

And look at this lovely goodie bag from the guild! Sunsweet has a major facility nearby and sponsors the show in some fashion. Yum!

I met up with my friend, fellow teacher and next year’s Quit Show chair Colleen Pelfrey. We’re standing in front of her quilt and her sister Eileen’s quilt. Collen is a musician and entertainer; her musical quilt is on the right in the photo. Her reward for being a part of this year’s show:
