The Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild Show 2024 – Part 2; Large Quilt Room

February 15, 2024

I posted photos of the Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild Show’s Small Quilt room and Wearables last week and I will finish up by posting quilts from the Large Quilt Room.

This is in no particular order and of course, there were photos of spectacular quilts that I messed up; but I do have some delightful photos of some of the large quilts here.

We have some fabulous talent in our guild and some mighty fine quilting from long armers, computerized, mid-arm and domestic machines. Enjoy:

And there is More; Inger Blood. Two-sided quilt; Best of Show!
Detail, back, And there is More; Inger Blood; there are crystals too
Detail, And there is More; Inger Blood; exquisite edge treatment
Indigo Hand Dyes w/Cherrywood; Cynthia Elliott. Pulled her ice dyes and combined with Cherrywood solids
Ode to quilters can quilt it out!; Shireen Hattan. “Read all of the instructions even if you think you already know!”
Chained Together; Lorraine O. Mathews. Fun color with lovely quilting
Talavera Roses; Andrea Diancoli. Design created to honor the show’s theme. There are ribbons interwoven in the border.
Cottage Blossoms; Bobbie Lewis, Quilted by Sondra Ames-Hauger. Such a sweet quilt
Ebb Tide; Lynn Daly. Lynn cut up some ice-dyed pieces and reassembled them
Life’s Labyrinth; Sandra Fong. Interlocking squares reminiscent of our lives
Lollipop Trees; Sherry Hansen. Wonderful, colorful applique
Round Robin; Caryn Edmonston. Fabulous quilting
Quadrangle; Caryn Edmonston. Beautiful digitized quilting
Coral Reef; Peggy Stone; Quilted by Lori Long. The fastest quilt finish for Peggy, on this quilt!
Alpine Christmas Stars; Donna Lopez; Quilted by Mandy Arrellano. My photo of the card is too fuzzy to give details
Breakfast with Lorenzo; Jan Sanborn. Inspired by breakfasts with her husband
A day at the farm; Noemi Simonelli; Quilted by Lin Squires. Original design!
Flowers on the Clam Shell; Lee Tincher. For a 50th wedding anniversary of a friend
Autumn Leaves; Martha McDonnell; Quilted by Debbie Lopez. Love the flutter of the leaves
Hocus Pocus Half Baked; Donna Lomax; Quilted by Mandy Arellano. Gotta love this Halloween quilt
Citrus Summer; Lynn Daly. From 4 cut up quilts; fabulous quilting
Hope Bloom; Kathy Berreth; Quilted by Pat Hertema. Soft, sweet, with delightful details
Red wagons wall quilt; Claudia Sumpter; Quilted by Lin Squires. Fun with lots of details to draw you in
City to Country Life; Maureen McKane; Quilted by Susie Quinnell; Binding and sleeve: Lynn Baker. A slice of life block a day for 365 days.
Mysterious Courtyard; Peggy Stone; Quilted by Lori Long. For the son who said he didn’t want a quilt.
Star of Bethlehem; Konnie Danley; Quilted by Nancy Calhoun; Her first Lone Star!

I processed a lot of quilts, photos and description cards, so if I misspelled or have anything wrong, please write and I will correct.

I am proud of my guild! I hope you enjoyed the show.

I loved attending this show each year when we lived in Northern Calif., my favorite show for sure. Each year it seems the talent only gets better and the quilts more impressive. Thanks for the tour.
