Beginning of Summer glory, 2025
It’s been an impossibly busy week with my “secret project” consuming my days. I have no quilty things to show, so rather than ghost you again, I chose to share my yard. Full disclosure, it’s large for a suburban yard and I have a maintenance service to help. It is just glorious this year! I had to share.
I’ve even got bloomers inside:
I will have cut peonies (store bought) until the season is over. I just love these showy little hussies.
Moving to the outdoor plantings… I won’t comment or identify each one, just the ones I feel like commenting on, grin:
This is the best this Smoke Tree has looked ever. I have 3 in total.
Front porch:
I sound like Bob Ross, but these are just the happiest little guys:
Oh the patterns on the grasses:
What the sun can do:
Pretty little sitting area in the shade:
We just had the upper retaining wall put in last season and it is Lizard Condo! They love its little nooks and crannies. They all come out and gather for cocktails right before the sun sets.
“Golf Ball Plant”, giggle:
For some reason this Sedum gathers the sprinkler drops and holds them like diamonds:
Various plantings front and back:
I hope you enjoyed a tour of my gardens. I hope to be back with some quilty things next week.
I’ll be linking up:
Nina-Marie’s Off the Wall Friday
Awesome
Thank you Claire!
Your yard is just gorgeous!!
Thank you Roxane! We enjoy it immensely.
Wow a fantastic garden and loads of color and texture! Thanks for sharing.
So many fun and beautiful things to see.
THank you Kathleen! I enjoy it daily.
Thank you Heather! It is a joy to watch.
I love the photos.
Helpers or not, your property looks stunning! I am impressed when anyone can get orchids to rebloom! Sadly, I kill everything green. I’ve tried to have my Dad’s green thumb but it escaped me. He could grow anything and everything, but not me. Can’t wait to see you reveal your secret sewing.
It’s so funny, I just put them in the window, water them sparsely on a regular schedule and they bloom! I do fertilize. I think I happen to have just the right light.
I can’t imagine life without flowers! Yours are beautiful. I made sure I had the annuals planted before my surgery. Now if it would just stop Raining!!. The rainiest May ever here in CT.
Oh wow, what a challenge – surgery and rain! I hope you enjoy a bountiful and colorful season Norma!
Your yard id amazing! I think garfenjng is a God’s nadural way of quiltung. Colir, texture, depth of patterns, etc. So mucj beauty!
Indeed Alice! His beauty, my tending.
I just love 💕 your beautiful flowering garden. What a delight.
Thank you Debbie!
Loved seeing the colorful yard, especially the peonies, golf ball plant, bottle brush and the Smoke Tree! My golfing sister in Los Osos, has a Smoke Tree (yours is over the top impressive), now she needs a golf ball plant.
Oh the peonies are Trader Joe’s! I would love to have them but they don’t like it here. I’ve only seen that golf ball plant once and bought them. Everyone needs a golf ball plant, lol!
I’m jealous of your garden! Beautiful! What joy!
Aw thank you Christine!
Along with your stunning free -motion quilting you’re a master gardener! You have created your very own botanical garden. Awesome!!!!! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Rosemarie
You’re welcome Rosemarie! I so enjoy my garden.
I would love it if you could catch some photos of those lizard gatherings!
Oh Jean I don’t know if I can! There will be like 10, but spread out over a few yards of block. It’s so cute and entertaining. It really is like a happy hour.
