NOTE: I won’t post next week as I will be in Daytona Beach, Florida teaching.
My home guild’s show was last weekend and it was faaaaabulous!! The Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild always puts on a good show, but this one was one for the records. The weather was perfect, attendance was heavy and the vendors were great. And oooooooh the quilts!

Here we go!!

Quilt Show Intake crew!

Our Quilt Show Chair Hilary Pollock adding a sleeve at the last minute! Don’t we all do this at some point?
I MC’d and organized the Fashion Show which had a 30 min run with 19 looks. It was very well received and I am going to do it next year. My guild is filled with talent and we have a LOT of garment makers of all types. The show included fashion that has stood the test of time and still looked fresh; we had ice dyed, trapunto’d, quilted and recyled garments. We had a costume (see below on the left) and even a stunning wedding dress! We know how to put on a Fashion Show! If you’re local, don’t miss next year!

Most of the Fashion Show Models, NOT a shy bunch!
I have an absurd amount of photos for you. I just could not whittle it down more. I did have a malfunction – some of the photos I took in Portrait mode and some of them were too bad to publish. Guild members, Shelley has posted excellent photos of every single item along with its write-up. It is on our website, in the Member Only section. Sorry to those who are not in the guild; that part of the website is private. But, if you’re local, you can always join the guild!
Another brag on my guild: 80% of our 190 members volunteered in some way for the show. It really takes a village and we have a great village.
I soooo want to comment on every single photo. There are some fun, touching or interesting stories behind many of these quilts and wearables. I just do not have the time to comment, sigh.

Denise was a student in my Dec 2-day class at Meissner Sewing and she brought this quilt in for suggestions. It is a remarkable quilt, completely original design. It is based on her photo of a group on a tour in the rain in Denmark(?). The red umbrellas provided by the tour company were in contrast with the blustery landscape. Can’t you just feel the wind and rain? She received a well deserved First Place ribbon. I just helped her a little with thread choices.

I had four in mind for my fictional Judge’s Choice: two traditional and two art quilts. Oh yes, and if there were one for other, like wearables and such, I have a choice there too!
I hope you enjoyed our show! I’ll be linking up:
