Easter 2026

It was the best Easter ever, except of course the original Easter. I had both boys and wives plus my 5 yr old grandson and almost 2 yr old granddaughter. Oh it was so much fun!

A kinetic and creative 5 yr old Grandson + an adorable almost 2 yr old Granddaughter = lots of joy! It was beyond what I expected, just so delightful almost every minute.

The weather was perfect the entire time – mild and sunny, with cool evenings and a gentle breeze. Easter Sunday’s egg hunt was so cute, just a simple scattering of eggs:

The Easter Bunny brought some fun:

Forgotten in Gramma’s toy bin was this:

I know it looks bad! It’s a Lego landscape kit with Playdoh for terrain, perfect to leave tire tracks in!

The last time the grands were here I was on my scooter; they thought it was the coolest thing. So even though I did not need it, it HAD to come out. Grandson led the way, my Granddaughter pushed the basket cart all about the house, and I brought up the rear. We occasionally needed  rest stops; all the gear had to be properly aligned and parked.

I cleaned up today and found stickers and rubber duckies here and there. So cute!

We ate quite well. We were together for 6 days and not one meal out; that makes for more family time:

For once I did not overcook; this was all that was leftover. You should have seen previous years! My frig started out stuffed to the gills.

Pistachio cake is special to my DIL; they had one at their recent wedding after a long search for just the right recipe. So Alie and I made one and it was spectacular! Don’t ask for the recipe; she was able to get it from a bakery in Connecticut after badgering them for years. She’s sworn to secrecy. It was so good!

With perfect weather, how could we NOT take a trip out to Folsom Lake? It’s about a 5 minute drive from the house. The lupines were barely blooming during our visit. During the Superbloom of 2022, both of those first photos would have solid blue on the terrain, endless lupines!

We did see a few lupines:

It’s hard to put into words how full my Mommy heart is. I take it as it comes and right now it’s just wonderful. Both boys have fantastic wives, my Grandchildren are a delight, Hubby and I are enjoying good health and we could all stay together, eat together and find joy in each other’s company. Blessings abound.

Thank you for sharing your Easter with us!
My grandson and granddaughter are also 2 years apart, but unlike your “cousin grandies”, mine are siblings.

In March they both had birthdays . Now they’re 8 & 10 and they get along so well together.

You have lots of fun times ahead!!
