Okay it’s time for the quilts! The quilts are already hung by Market so I took Sunday to primarily look at quilts. I knew I didn’t have much time and there was A LOT of quilts! I roamed the aisles rather briskly and snapped photos of anything that struck me. I knew I would end up chatting with friends and visitors so I kept up a good pace to see all the quilts.
Of course there were a good number of photos that were just lousy. As always, if I have previously published a quilt or if it has been in print for awhile, I don’t include it here. Also, I was so overwhelmed by the sheer number of both dolls and the Cherrywood show that I didn’t take photos there. For today’s post I thought I would post whatever seemed most noteworthy. That was over 100 quilts so I’m splitting them in half.
One more glitch – I had them carefully organized. When I went to a split-screen to create my post, it messed up the order completely. By the time I realized it they were hopelessly out-of-order. I just could not take the time to reorganize. Each quilt has a story and I wish I had the time to add a note to each photo.
And oh by-the-way, if it’s got a * before the name, it could have possibly been my Judge’s Choice:-) There are 5 – I would make a lousy judge.

What a beautiful parade of art! Thank you for including my two pieces. I’m proud to have had my work hanging along side such incredible quilts.

It blows my mind on how quilters can do awesome work with fabric…i’m a piecer The A word can be very intimidating for me thanks for the great show Bobbie
The skill and diversity you see at Houston is amazing.
I believe I saw 3 traditional type quilts in these and they were very artsy. How far quilts have come in the past 35 years. Most of these could have been oil or other art medium on canvas instead of fabric art.
Well Round 2 may contain more traditional quilts. Remember those photos come from my eye and I am more geared towards the art quilt. There was a fabulous exhibit of pineapple log cabins and many exquisite traditional quilts.
