The Roseville Quilters Guild Show, 2024

Last weekend I visited the Roseville Quilters  Guild show, one I never miss if I’m in town. It was delightful! I think my interests change over time and that is reflected in what I took photos of.

There were some spectacular applique quilts and a really good number of maker quilted quilts. It seemed like a really fresh show, lots of color, newer designs and creative art quilts. So here we go:

Bird House; Linda Schreiner, quilted by Virginia Page

Feels like spring.

40 Years and Counting; Rebecca Lister

Celebrating her anniversary.

Goats in Pajamas; Kaye Allen, quilted by Debbie Lopez

Couldn’t be any cuter?

Jacob’s Ladder; Ann Best, quilted by Laurie Johnson

I love a Jacob’s Ladder quilt; great use of color.

Red and Black Hunter Star; Donna Kovar, quilted by Audrey Crawford

Unique color combo makes this a special Hunter Star; for her grandson.

Bridal Path, Lynn Wilder Design; Shirley Cox, quilted by Audrey Crawford

BOM for Sew Katie Jean this year; this is the shop sample.

Watermelon; Virginia Butterfield, quilted by Ann Adams

Yes, feels like watermelon.

Phase; Joan Fuller, quilted by Leisha Belau

Fabulous colors and quilting.

Feathered Star Opportunity Quilt; Laurel Moore, Karen Banta, Kaye Allen, Jenny Gedeon; quilted by Debbie Lopez

2025’s Opportunity Quilt – spectacular!

Ella Maria Deacon Reproduction; Karrin Hurd, quilted by Leisha Belau

Wow – the quilting, the design, the applique!

Patriotic Compass Star; Donna Kovar, quilted by Audrey Crawford

Guild’s BOM 2023.

Scotties; Connie Richerson

I love the Scottie in the lower right corner.

Holiday Forest; Laurel Moore, quilted by Jenny Gedeon

What a wonderful Christmas quilt.

Flowering Snow Ball; Karen Banta

Easy to make she says; used Accuquilt to cut the pieces. I like the restrained color palette.

Sashed Double Square Star; Audrey Crawford

I am taken by the colors and the really cool quilting.

Betty’s Stars; Colleen Voet

This is the result of a “partnership” with Betty Kisby; if Betty didsn’t like a block, Colleen would take it and usually make a Community Service quilt. I really like the colors.

Yo Yo VIlle; Bev Rognlien, quilted by Debbie Lopez

So, so sweet.

Scrap Box Sampler; Jane Eagan, quilted by Leish Belau

Quilter’s Corner BOM from a while ago. I love this color combo and how the high value contrast adds.

Retro Daisy; Lisa Milburn, quilted by Suzanne Lavanaway

Oh I love those daisies; so happy.

Hand Picked Squares; Lynn Brady, quilted by Marge Wilson

So cheerful and I like the unexpected choice of navy blue.

Tilda’s Bird Quilt; Ann Best, quilted by Lauei Johnson

Sweet.

Curvy Log Cabin; Jane Eagan, quilted by Leisha Belau

Jane saw a photo online and created her own pattern.

Kite Flying; Linda Lechtenberger

Cheerful colors; I like the way the design kind of “moves” as you study it.

Secret Agent Mystery; Shirley Shingara

From a Kerr and Ringle class; wow, that color. Transparency achieved.

Sutter Creek Treasure; Dianne Ingalls, quilted by Leisha Belau

Found top (!) and embroidered roses by a friend; a very special quilt.

Fun, happy, colorful.

Spiral Lone Star; Joanne Morris, quilted by Patty Clausen

Made in a Jan Krenz class at Empty Spools 2023.

A gift from the guild. The colors are so luscious!

Designed by Laurel Moore; adorable.

Purple Storm; Colleen Voet

Freehand quilted on a commercial whole cloth; really cool.

Travels; Bonnie Ellering

Hand pieced, appliqued and embroidered quilt to represent all her travels.

Christmas Houses; Rebecca Lister, quilted by Trudy Hardy

Made as a class sample for a class she taught; just dripping with charm.

Halloween Crowns; Jenny Gedeon, quilted by Debbie Lopez

What a fun Halloween quilt.

Presidents Quilt 2017 – 2019; Bonnie Ellering

Civil War fabrics in this quilt that was a gift from the guild; well loved.

President’s Quilt 2011; Lynette Schroedle

She hand quilted each block after receiving the top as a gift from the guild.

Turtle Star; Beth Holzman

Original design from 45 years ago; hand pieced and quilted; turned out to be a really difficult quilt.

Butterfly Table Topper; Donna Kovar

Used Malar for the wings; just beautiful.

Hummingbirds in Flight; Penny Beingessner

Broideried perse I think; so pretty.

Thimble Blossoms; Debby Huntington

What a fun quilt.

Bittersweet Briar Wall Hanging; Gloria Walker, quilted by Lin Squires

Beautiful applique on this quilt that was lost for a time, then found.

Flour Sack Fan; Thelma Barto

Hand pieced from flour sacks by the maker’s Husband’s grandmother; antique.

Thelma’s Birthday Quilt; Owned by Doug and Sharla Shuck; quilted by Joyce Moldenhauer

Special signature quilt for a 25th birthday in 1943.

Vintage Treasures; Debby Huntington

Wool applique on homespun fabric and some beading; details were gorgeous.

Chevron and Stripes; Linda Lichtenberger

Fabulous use of these fabrics.

Around Town; Bonnie Ellering

Pattern creates a peaceful town in colonial days; no need for a police station.

Sunbonnet Sue’s Wedding Ring Quilt; Hazeline Price

Purchased in West Virginia; just so sweet.

Patriotic Pineapples; Laurel Moore, quilted by Jenny Gedeon

Beautiful pineapple in such lovely fabrics.

Witches of Salem; Bev Rognlien, quilted by Debbie Lopez

The strips started with plain fabric; cool take on a Halloween quilt.

Mischievous Elf; Shellie Fisher

How cute.

Sparrows at Cobblestone Court; Joan McClure; quilted by Debbie Lopez

Machine applique, beautiful composition.

Spring Wagon; Joan McClure

What a fun and colorful applique.

Gi Gi Giraffe; Linda Lichtenberger

Such fabulous color and a good choice to marry the panel and the border fabric.

She captured the hummingbird beautifully.

What a great show! I hope I am here for next year’s show.

I can see why you enjoy attending this guild’s show. Reminds me of the first time I stumbled on a quilt show. I was so wowed, I joined the guild. That was nearly 40 years ago – gasp! The fabrics and quilting have changed over the decades, but the patterns and particularly the heart are constant.

What an eclectic show. I loved the surprise of the red trees in the Holiday Forest, and I need to try the “Hand-picked Squares” approach with my scraps — but I think my favourite was the maple leaves with the owls. I laughed out loud!

    • Jenny on May 26, 2024 at 6:44 pm

OF course it was the maple leaves with owls, lol!
