I submitted my first piece to judging in 2005 when I entered this jacket into a wearable art competition in my local quilt guild, the Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild. Yes, I’m wishing I was in Houston right now. My first quilt to hang in the Houston International Quilt Festival is there and I’m not. So why am not there for this big moment? Let’s see, airfare, $500 because I’m late in the game, hotel, $500 for 3 nights, food and all those nasty incidentals, $150, and come on, vendors, $250-that’s $1400-at least!
